I formed DME Health Connection as a natural extension of my commitment to good nutrition, which changed my life and lifestyle.
Approximately five years ago, I was diagnosed with Lymes disease. By the time I was diagnosed, my illness was quite advanced. I was placed on a high dosage of antibiotics and began to feel better and stayed well for about a year. Unfortunately, I had a major relapse, was briefly hospitalized and put on antibiotics again. I decided to fight this disease naturally. I knew, however, before I quit taking medications, and in order to achieve wellness, that I would need to boost my immune system. The way to do that was by changing my nutrition habits.
During my quest for self-healing, my husband stumbled upon the Institute of Integrative Nutrition based in Manhattan which specializes in nutrition and lifestyle changes for optimum health. In October, 2006 I began studying at the Institute and pursued an education in the nuances of the various “commercial” diets, and the methods for listening to, and healing, the body through good nutrition.
In June, 2007, I graduated from the Institute as a Certified Holistic Health Counselor with a second certification from the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
DME Health Connection’s commitment to health through nutrition is reflected in how we introduce ourselves to those who are interested in taking a nutritional approach to health and wellness. The DME Health Connection experience begins with a free health history which is a one-on-one meeting to discuss the person’s nutritional habits – past and present – and an overview of how DME can enable the person to reach optimal health through DME’s six month personal program.
While Lymes can be a recurring disease, I am much stronger and better able to ward off its debilitating symptoms than I was a year ago. I am confident in my body’s ability to manage and contain this disease and I know my experience is not isolated to my condition. This is why I am dedicated to assisting anyone – even the mildly curious- who wants to gain ownership over their overall health and wellness.

"Holistic health refers to a philosophy of medical care that views physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of life as closely interconnected and equally important approaches to treatment. While frequently associated with alternative medicine, it is also increasingly used in mainstream medical practice as part of a broad view of patient care."
