CSES FORMATION – For Small Business
CSES International was formed by Michael Relph in the fall of 1991 as an IT solutions company to help the small business owner utilize the up and coming database POS software that could run on a PC. With such a powerful tool then and now it was not difficult to demonstrate that it could help to provide significant savings in; inventory costs, customer retention, direct marketing, and give an accurate customer buying history to determine where the business was making money. As a result CSES has served over 200 retail, warehouse, and service organizations on an international scale. For many operations CSES helped to provide a much higher rate of return on the bottom-line, and for others saved their business from failure, and yet others a very successful startup.

Owner Empowerment for the small business owner is about having all the business tools needed to run their operation looking ahead. The fewer the tools the better. In June of 2008 CSES and ASH established a Joint Venture named CASH International for the purpose of establishing the Main Distributor for North American Operations representing ASH’s Point of Sale Management System. CASH International is on the hunt to find software distributors who sell software solutions to the end customer, the retailer / service provider. CASH’s role in the business is to work with the distributors to assist them in sales, training on the product, distributor and customer support, and to work with distributors and customers to continue to improve the software product. In parallel with working with the small business enterprise CSES has over 30 years of experience (since 1979) with large corporations and government agencies, assisting them by providing state of the art technology and creative strategic business direction. The core of those strategies include process improvement, quality and environmental program development, in-depth business and financial analysis for companies looking to purchase another, large-scale contract, program, and project management, radically new Intranet and Extranet Web-Site Designs and Concepts, IT Operational establishment using models such as ITIL in order to increase quality, stability, and reduce costs.

CSES Supporting Minority Company Development
Another parallel since the mid-90’s through associations with Ford Motor Company’s Minority Technical Assistance Program and through Detroit Home-Town great Willie Horton, CSES was/is invited to assist many of the Ford’s Tier One Minority Suppliers to implement technical projects that the supplier may not afford due to their size, so Ford paid ½ of the bill. CSES Supporting Manufacturing – Auto Suppliers Turning Government
That journey taken with Mr. Horton led to working the Michigan Minority Business Development Council and the Michigan Senate with respect to Manufacturing. For those Minority Manufacturing Businesses was asked to speak and train those owners how to capture government grants and contracts. Several others asked CSES to develop Strategic Business Plans in order to start or expand their business. Yet others asked CSES to get involved with the political engines of the State of Michigan, Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties, and the City of Detroit as a Strategist for Innovation in the areas of Manufacturing, Alternative Energy, Energy Efficiency, Education, and Property Tax Management.

CSES Supporting Community – Those who could not defend themselves
It was in the area of Property Tax Management that in 2004 pulled off one of the most significant political feats in Michigan where the Wayne County Treasurer was held back from illegally foreclosing on more that 22,000 properties mostly owned by Senior Citizens. The fact remains that all elected political officials associated with the City of Detroit from the city, county, state, and federal government, to include judges, lawmakers, law enforcement, policy makers, etc etc, all voted simultaneously on a resolution to delay the foreclosure process long enough so all property owners could be lawfully notified of their tax obligation and to have them pay it immediately. In only 30 days that number went from 22,000+ to 3,005 saving Wayne County 100’s of millions in potential lawsuits. Additionally that night over 300 attorneys came prepared to help solve outstanding cases and with their help along with all the attending judges over 300 cases were solved in only 2 hours time. This is PROOF that if our elected officials all pull together and work as a team, much can be accomplished in short order.
